The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and through an impressive display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Complementing the studio's triumph, the skilled cast also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers collected 7 awards throughout the show.
Additional standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Top Self-Published Indie and Premier PC Title. Notably, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only four categories—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers’ Choice—determined by reviewers.
