Guardiola reaches 250 wins with Haaland strike
Achieving 250 Premier League victories is a landmark that deserves unique recognition.
That is what Pep Guardiola is planning after Manchester City's 1-0 win over Brentford secured him access to an exclusive club of managers who have accomplished the feat with a single club.
Only Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester United) and Arsene Wenger (Arsenal) have done so previously - and Guardiola is already planning a football fan's dream guest list to toast the landmark.
"It's a privilege to stand with Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, I'll treat them to an excellent dinner," declared the Spanish manager during his tenth season at City.
"It's a pleasure to be part of that in Premier League history, really pleased. Now let's go for 250 more."
Record-Breaking Achievement
Guardiola achieved this milestone in just 349 Premier League games, setting a new record by completing it 55 matches faster than Ferguson and 75 quicker than Wenger.
In the Premier League era, David Moyes also has 250 wins under his belt, but has achieved them across spells with multiple clubs.
Guardiola enters the prestigious company of 16 other managerial greats in English top-flight history, featuring football icons such as Shankly, Busby, and Clough.
Remarkable Period of Dominance
Since joining City in 2016, the 54-year-old has steered them to six Premier League triumphs, one Champions League, two FA Cups and four League Cups.
City secured their place in history as only the second team to complete the Treble by capturing the league, European cup and domestic cup in 2023.
City's 2017-18 season broke new ground as they became the inaugural team to achieve 100 points, securing 32 victories, while also being the exclusive club to win four straight league titles.
Transformative Influence
"He ranks among the all-time great managers," commented former City defender Micah Richards.
"When we talk about Guardiola it's not just the wins, it's how they've won, how he's changed football, the tiki-taka [style of play]."

Statistical Dominance
Under Guardiola, City have surpassed 90 points in four different campaigns out of nine - an extraordinary feat given this benchmark had been achieved just five times before his English tenure.
Guardiola's remarkable 71.6% win rate surpasses all other managers in league history, exceeding both Ferguson's 65.2% and Conte's 62.9%.
Throughout his 349 Premier League appearances, Guardiola's teams have netted 842 times while allowing only 299 goals.
While he signed a deal to stay at City until 2027, Guardiola's long-term future remains uncertain.
Yet there can be no doubt about the successful impact he has had on English football.
