The Streaming Giant Selects Ideal Actor for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is poised to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t take place until season 3, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has just been cast.

Netflix announced Tuesday that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. The role can use their power to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will portray a interpretation of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, as in the initial comic and animated series.

Escola will work alongside multiple new cast members tasked with bringing the group to life, including leader Mr. 0, played by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as a key member, and a familiar face, who will appear as the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.

Though Bon Clay is a important part of Baroque Works, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Given season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this signals a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the plot development.

Their mix of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the character. In addition to their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is set to return for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
