Trump Calls Loved Ones of Shot Military Members to the Presidential Residence

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the family of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Memorials across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

White House Offer

The president explained he’s proposed a White House visit for the parents of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president told the press. “And similarly with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Reaction

Attendees gathered over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to aid public safety in DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“She was the individual that educators hoped for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a positive energy that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Measures and Government Adjustments

Officials have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the government to pause asylum applications and halt granting visas to owners of Afghan passports.

Condition of the Airman

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor the governor mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a law enforcement officer with distinction, according to the state guard.
