This young athlete maintains considerable social media audience
Kai Trump can count on numerous well-known backers as she starts her professional golf debut this Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is connected to Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to play at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, owns numerous courses worldwide and often matches against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have some close matches," she mentioned.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, unable to come, advised her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa practically told me to go out there and enjoy myself," she continued.
"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's busy with presidential duties, making him quite busy."
While still amateur, Kai has competed in just three tournaments in 2024 and holds the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
Yet she can receive tips from Tiger Woods, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He represents the best player globally," Kai expressed.
"And he's an even better individual. He told me to compete, relax, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge several top competitors in women's golf at the Annika, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Officials mentioned that Kai's presence brings the sport to new audiences, specifically among younger fans.
The social media influencer maintains substantial online presence and recently launched her own fashion and living brand.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
