Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected capsaicin spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.

A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
