Ukraine Begins Mass Production of New Defensive Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Ukrainian authorities have declared the start of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to strengthen its aerial protection systems. The first three producers have started production, with an additional eleven getting ready to set up production lines, the defence ministry stated this past Friday.

These UAVs will be based on a domestically developed technology known as “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Shahed drones. Russia’s Black Sea port of the port city temporarily suspended oil exports this past Friday – representing 2% of global supply – after a strike by Ukrainian forces. Ukraine’s general staff said its forces had launched domestically produced missiles and used multiple kinds of strike drones in the attack on Novorossiysk “within the framework of operations to reduce the military and economic potential of the invading force.”
